Why we exist

On October 15, 2026, a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend changed our community. We are grieving with the families, with the students and staff, and with everyone who loves them.

Our community already showed up

Within hours, thousands of us gathered at vigils. Neighbors brought meals, sat with one another, and checked on each other’s kids. Again and again, people asked the same question: what can we do?

We want to turn that care into lasting, practical prevention, so it keeps working long after the news moves on.

Our approach

We focus on the outcome everyone here shares: safe schools and safe kids. Then we use every proven tool toward it.

  • Helping young people in crisis get care early
  • Teaching students and adults to recognize warning signs and speak up
  • Keeping firearms secured and out of the wrong hands
  • Supporting each other through loss

We are a local convener, not another national program. We bring proven tools into Central Oregon schools, and we add what is missing here: an organized network of clinicians ready to see struggling young people quickly.

We are nonpartisan by design. Gun owners, hunters, parents, teachers, clinicians and law enforcement all belong here. We talk about results, not sides.
